This is about being a counsellor with LIFE CHANGES COUNSELLING SERVICE, based in Southampton.

LIFE CHANGES offers counsellors, and counsellors-in-training, experience of working with adults, in a Service that is secure, supportive and ethical. They will gain experience of counselling and working as part of a team, with both managerial and clinical supervision within the placement.

APPLICATION TO BE A VOLUNTARY COUNSELLOR WITH LIFE CHANGES

have a minimum of Level 3 Counselling skills and practice, and are in the last weeks of your first year of a Counselling Diploma or Degree Course. The placement would also suit qualified counsellors seeking
experience
if still in training, have experience in another helping capacity which involves/d using interpersonal and/or counselling skills
are committed to counselling and have an enthusiasm to improve skills and knowledge, through both training and practice
are a member of, and adhere to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
commit to maintaining the Policies and Practices of the service
commit to attend supervision and team meetings, and annual appraisal within LIFE CHANGES
are reliable, punctual and show respect for the service and its clients
have personal Professional Indemnity insurance
fortnightly group supervision
a supportive management structure - with introductory induction meeting and training sessions
